Shipping, Returns, and FAQs

What is your shipping policy?

All packages will be shipped 1-3 business days after orders are made via USPS Priority Mail, with delivery in 1-3 business bays. Please contact me if you need your order shipped more quickly, and we can discuss options!

What is your return policy?

At this time, I do not accept returns. Every shelf is one of a kind, and fully handmade—and perfectly imperfect! Part of their magic is that you can see the maker’s hand in their construction. I do my best to photograph the shelves in a way that reflects their “true” colors as correctly as possible, but the nature of many of the glazes I use also means that different lighting can bring out different tonal qualities. Please look at the photographs closely and read the description of the size and weight of the shelves before purchasing.

If you receive your piece and it is damaged, please email me as soon as possible with a description of what happened and pictures at pigeonpottery@gmail.com and we will figure out a solution!

Why are your pieces so expensive?

If you’ve ever bought homemade ceramics or pottery, you’ve probably noticed the high price tag. Pottery is quite an expensive art form! The costs of my pieces consider the costs of studio memberships, clay, glazes, and firing fees, plus the average of 4-6 hours each shelf takes me to make. Nerikomi is also a time-intensive and expensive process that takes many hours to complete.

How do I hang my shelf?

I suggest you hang these shelves with a minimum of two nails, and find that l-hooks work best for shelves that don’t have built in holes to hang from. Some of the shelves have built-on holes to hang from; normal nails or screws can be used with these holes. This said, I don't know the type of walls you have, so please use your best judgemnt or consult with a local handyperson or hardware store.

I also recommend using museum wax to keep items in place on the shelves—it allows for more creative placements and combinations of items, with less fear of any items being knocked off or falling down!
